How to Build an Online Store in 10 Minutes (Step-by-Step)

What you'll need

To build your online store with Rukter you need:

- An email address or Google account (to sign up) - Photos of your products (phone camera is fine) - A price for each product - 10 minutes

Step 1 -- Create your Rukter account

Go to rukter.com and click "Get started free." Sign up with your email address or click "Continue with Google" for one-click registration.

You'll be taken to your seller dashboard immediately -- no waiting for email confirmation.

Step 2 -- Choose your store design

Rukter provides ready-made storefront themes. Go to Dashboard → Theme to browse templates.

Choose a theme that fits your product type -- minimal for fashion, bold for food, clean for electronics. You can change the theme later without losing your products or settings.

Step 3 -- Customise your storefront

In the Theme Editor you can:

- Upload your logo - Set brand colours - Edit the homepage sections (hero banner, product grid, about text) - Add your store's social media links

Tip: Add a clear, short tagline on your homepage that tells visitors exactly what you sell. "Handmade cotton bags shipped from Bangkok" is better than "Welcome to my store."

Step 4 -- Add your first products

Go to Dashboard → Products → Add Product.

For each product: - Upload 2-5 high-quality photos (natural light, clean background) - Write a clear title and description - Set the price - Add variants if needed (size, colour, etc.) - Set the available quantity

Repeat for each product. You can organise products into collections (categories) later.

Step 5 -- Set up payments

Go to Dashboard → Payments to enable your preferred methods:

- PromptPay QR -- upload your PromptPay QR image, customers scan and pay - Bank Transfer -- enter your bank name, account name, account number - Cash on Delivery (COD) -- customer pays on delivery - Stripe -- credit/debit card online payment (requires a Stripe account)

You can enable multiple methods. Most Thai sellers start with PromptPay + bank transfer.

Step 6 -- Set shipping options

Go to Dashboard → Shipping to add your shipping rates. You can set:

- Free shipping (for all orders or above a minimum) - Flat rate shipping fee - Custom notes (e.g. "3-5 business days, Thailand Post")

Be honest about shipping times. Customers appreciate accurate expectations more than overpromising.

Step 7 -- Go live

Your store is live immediately at yourhandle.rukter.com. Share this link on social media to get your first visitors.

For a custom domain (e.g. yourshop.com), connect it in Dashboard → Settings → Domain. Domain registration (from any registrar) costs around $10-15/year.
